A BREAK WELL DESERVED Some of you may be familiar with the Readiness Centres of Peel. Back in 2004 Peel region launched early years hubs and Readiness Centres to prepare families with young children with the transition into school. They took 10 of the highest need communities and provided them with a teacher, a teachers assistant and the resources to help with this transition. I happened to come across the locations by chance and it was one of the best discoveries for myself and my child who was approximately 8 months at the time. These centres are available to parents and caregivers with children from birth until the age of 4 which is when they start kindergarten and they offer excellent support for free. Often parents of school age children find the March Break to be a difficult time as they are forced to find alternative care, programs or camps for their children. There is definitely a purpose for everything. For school aged children and their teachers it is a chance for them to take a well needed break from an intense school year, it's a time when children can spend some quality time with their parents and just have fun. Having frequented the Readiness Centre often, I see first hand how hard these teachers such as Fiona Harrower and Stefanie Lamond work providing support to all of those families that also go to the Readiness Centre. It's teachers like Fiona and Stefanie who truly love what they do, putting so much effort into creating an environment that welcomes all. They do it daily and not begrudgingly and in my eyes are the ones that truly deserve that well needed break called the March Break. Click here to view the early years hubs and Readiness Centre locations. PIPPI'S WORLD We are a unique children’s “Party and Play Place” facility conveniently located at the corner of Lakeshore Rd. East and Dixie Rd in Mississauga. Open daily for play Pippi’s World is an exciting place for children up to 7 years of age, to explore fun and educational games, toys and activities. Your child (ren) can enjoy our large climbing structure with slides and ball pit; inflatable bouncing castle, Barbie corner; dress-up area, arts and crafts station, computer station and tree house, miniature bowling alley, roller coaster, swings, monkey bars and much more! Parents can feel secure knowing that our playground is safe and clean.  We are also a nut-free facility. In addition to daily play and birthday parties, we offer a March Break Camp and Full Time Daycare. March Break Camp This March we are offering a March Break Camp for children aged 2-1/2 to 6 years of age. The cost is $30 per day or $150 for the entire week.  Our Theme for the week is St. Patrick’s Day, each day providing something exciting and interesting to do. Camp hours are from 9 – 5 pm daily with the option to extend the hours before and after the camp hours.  Call, email us, or drop in for more details soon, as space is limited. Full Time Daycare Available We also offer 5 full time permanent preschool daycare spots at Pippi’s World for ages 2 ½ to 5½ years of age. All staff are First Aid Certified & experienced mothers.  We also have 2 ECE teachers on our staff who have developed a program for us. We offer nutritrious meals and snacks, regular visits to the park (weather permitting), drop off and pick up service for Mississauga South – Etobicoke South areas.  Please call to find out more information about our program.
